The Sheriff’s Office Administration Division is headed by Chief Clerk Janet Gaither. This division maintains the financial and operational duties of the Sheriff’s Office. The Sheriff’s Office Administration Division is in constant contact with the public in the office and by phone in order to answer routine questions, schedule appointments, issue pistol permits, and assist with any departmental activities.
The Chief Clerk is responsible for the direction of all office operations of non-sworn staff in the maintenance of records, warrants, court orders, civil documents, and related activities. In addition to operational responsibilities, the Chief Clerk serves as the Sheriff’s Secretary and Administrative Assistant.
The clerks, under the supervision and direction of the Chief Clerk, perform a variety of clerical duties for the Sheriff’s Office. Activities include public service, records maintenance, document production, and data processing.
The Administrative Assistant to the Sheriff’s Office is Janice Phillips. Under direction, provides varied, complex and often confidential secretarial and office administrative assistance to the Sheriff, Chief Deputy Sheriff or designated other of upper management level. Job responsibilities include the maintenance of financial records to the reception and disbursement of Sheriff Department funds, regular contact with governmental officials and representatives of other law enforcement agencies, and the public and all levels of county personnel to exchange information.
The Records Coordinator to the Sheriff’s Office is Rosa Keith. Under the direct supervision of the Chief Investigator, maintains records generated by Sheriff’s patrol, corrections, and investigations. The Records Coordinator also archives and retrieves records and provides requested information as authorized.
